The two humans got stuck going after the dog, which was stuck, Clarkstown police said.

Two men and a dog who were stuck on a cliff in Upper Nyack this afternoon were rescued by the Nyack Fire Department, according to Clarkstown police.

Police were called to 507 N. Broadway at about 2:35 p.m. for a report of two adult males and one dog stuck on a cliff at the rear of the property, which was adjacent to the Hudson River shoreline.

The dog had become stuck on the cliff after walking down a steep embankment. One of the men descended to the cliff and likewise became stuck while trying to assist the stranded dog. The second man then attempted to aid the previously stranded dog and person. He, too, became stuck on the cliff, police said.
