Special education teacher sees several accomplishments in the short time since she joined the district.
Tenure was awarded to Nyack's Special Education Teacher Megan Moreau at Tuesday night’s school board meeting.

"Her pathway is pretty interesting," Montesano continued. "Tenure is typically three years and the following school year. Megan began as a student teacher in '07-'08 at Liberty (Elementary) and then moved into a position at Liberty as a replacement teacher and demonstrated her many talents.”
He added that Moreau has held other positions in her short time since joining the school district, including a position as a collaborative pair teacher.

“At the same time, she’s also spent time in all three of the elementary schools in that short period of time -- I like to think of it that her elementary principals are fighting over her,” Montesano said. “When you look at comments that have been made about her in terms of her evaluations and performance, there are a couple of adjectives that pop up consistently … passion, dedication, competency … she’s becoming a leader among leaders in her profession.”
