The Nyack Red and Black, a booster club of parents and community members who support the athletic department at , have donated $5,000 to the Nyack School District.
The group wishes to assist with funding a project to re-do all of the athletic banners throughout the school, starting from when the school opened. Nyack's Red and Black raised the money through concession stand sales at games, Nyack Indians merchandise and tournaments throughout the year.
"We're excited for them and in desperate need for them," said Red and Black member Donna Castellano about the athletic banners.

In addition to this project, every year the Red and Black offers scholarships to graduating athletes and tries to give teams any equipment they might need but cannot afford themselves. This year, the group also gave coaches $150 to spend on supplies they would need and can use again in the upcoming years, like uniforms.
The $5,000 was presented at last Tuesday's school board meeting. The Red and Blacks meet on the first Wednesday of every month and list their events and meetings on the Nyack school calender.
