The crime for which he was convicted by a jury today took place at the Lord and Taylor store in the Palisades Center Mall April 7, 2014, according to the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office. The total value of the half-dozen handbags: $1,838.
DA Thomas Zugibe said Keith Mulligan, a Pomona NY resident who has a rap sheet of larceny convictions, did much the same thing in 2012.

“Notably, Mulligan was indicted by the Rockland County Grand Jury in 2012 for the same crime, committed at the same department store,” he said in a statement today announcing the jury’s verdict. “In that case the defendant stole over $1,000 worth of Michael Kors merchandise from Lord and Taylor. When confronted by store loss prevention in the 2012 case, the defendant assaulted and injured the loss prevention officer. The defendant pled guilty to Assault in the Second Degree and was sentenced to one year in jail.”
Mulligan, 41, awaits his April 21 sentencing for this conviction in Rockland County Jail. He faces up to four years in state prison.
Assistant District Attorney Patrick Fischer prosecuted the case.
