Unemployment Rate in Rockland Dropping Still

The unemployment rate for the Rockland-Westchester-Orange county region dropped by almost 1 percent in the past year, state Labor Department officials report.

It was 4.7 percent in March 2015, compared to 5.6 percent in March 2014.

Rockland has one of the lowest unemployment rates in New York—4.6 percent last month. The counties in New York State with the lowest unemployment rates as of March 2015 include:

• Tompkins County (3.8%)
• Albany County (4.3%)
• Nassau County (4.3%)
• Putnam County (4.4%)
• Saratoga County (4.4%)
• Columbia County (4.6%)
• Rockland County (4.6%)
• Dutchess County (4.7%)
