Welles Crowther's Memory Honored by Fire Safety Directors Association of Greater New York

At the New York City Fire Museum Oct. 9, family and friends of Welles Crowther gathered for a ceremony in which the Fire Safety Directors Association of Greater New York named the late Nyack volunteer firefighter as an honorary member, reports the Nyack Free Press.
During the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center “Crowther became known around the world as the ’man in the red bandana’ for his efforts to save the lives of others,” wrote Editor Bill Demarest.
