West Nyack Shoprite Shoplifting Suspects Charged
Police allege that the woman was trying to take $58 worth of probiotics and the man helped her get away from store security.

Clarkstown police got a call from the Shop Rite Supermarket in West Nyack at 4:12 p.m. Sept. 15.
A loss prevention employee reported observing a woman take two boxes of probiotic medication and walk out of the store at 243 Rte. 59 without paying for the merchandise. The employee, a 59-year-old West Nyack resident, said he tried to stop her. A struggle ensued and a man who was outside the store, joined in to prevent the employee from getting the merchandise back.
Then both suspects fled.

They were apprehended a short distance away by responding officers.
The suspects were identified as Lisa Johansen, 24, of Nyack and Jared Macina, 24, of Haverstraw. They were arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. The merchandise was valued at $58.

Both suspects were charged with robbery 2rd (felony), petty larceny (misdemeanor) and criminal possession of stolen property (misdemeanor).
The suspects were arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $7,500 for Johansen and $10,000 for Macina. Both suspects were taken to the Rockland County Jail. They are due back in court Sept. 17.
