When Will the Storm End: Nyack Storm Central

WARNING: Clean up today.

The wintry mix dumping snow, sleet and freezing rain on Piermont and the Nyacks and closing everything from Nyack schools to Meals on Wheels of Rockland should end this evening, according to forecasters.

The hour-by-hour forecast from weather.com calls for that wintry mix to continue through the morning until 1 p.m. It should change to light snow by 2 p.m. and continue snowing lightly until about 7 p.m.

Nyack village officials declared a Snow Emergency last night so that plows could get to the roads before the temperatures plummet overnight, freezing everything into place.

“Tonight temps will plummet to dangerously cold levels, any snow or ice not dealt with today will only become a permanent fixture with a very cold airmass locking in place. Lows will range from below zero to only a few degrees above,” warn the meteorologists at Hudson Valley Weather.
