Sign Up For This Back To School Tradition: Ossining MATTERS 5K
The OM 5K Run/2 Mile Walk takes place Sept. 9.

From Ossining MATTERS
Kick off the new school year, and Ossining MATTERS' 15th year with a morning of fun, exercise, family,
community and tradition! Now in its 15th year, the Ossining MATTERS Education Foundation 5K Run/2 Mile
Walk takes place September 9, 2017 at 9 am. By participating, you and hundreds of other Ossining MATTERS
supporters can help make a difference in the education of all of Ossining's students. While the event is timed,
the Ossining Matters Run/Walk is much more than a race. It is a chance for Ossining residents to display
Ossining Pride and commitment to programs that enrich our children's educational experience.
Just like the 2016 Run/Walk, Runners begin at the Main Street Post Office, while Walkers start at the Double
Arches. Everyone will follow the path along the old Croton Aqueduct trail towards the Crawbuckie Nature
Preserve, accessing the park via a path created by the Avalon residential complex. Walkers will venture into the complex before heading back to finish their hike. Runners will proceed a bit further north before returning to the Double Arches Finish Line. Be prepared, as it is a multi-surface course (pavement, grass, dirt and wood chip trails) of varying elevation, with uneven terrain, stairs and hills. Super Race Systems will provide timing for our runners.

plus an awards ceremony with medals presented in all age categories.

MATTERS will offer in-person registration along with pre-race packet pickup from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at LaurLee (211 N. Highland Ave., Ossining). OM kindly requests participants to pick up their packets on Friday
