BIG NEWS: Ossining Winter Farmers Market Moves INDOORS
Saturday, January 16, market opens inside First Presbyterian Church at 34 S. Highland Ave (Rt 9) - Opposite Ossining HS. 9am-1pm
As the winter weather rolls in, Down to Earth Markets is happy to announce a new INDOOR home for the Ossining Winter Farmers Market!
On Saturday, January 16th, customers will find all their favorite Ossining vendors inside the First Presbyterian Church, located at 34 S. Highland Avenue (Route 9). The church is on the corner of Highland and Maple Place, across the street from Ossining High School.
In 2015, Claremont Elementary School opened its doors to the Ossining Winter Farmers Market. While the market enjoyed and appreciated the school’s hospitality, some shoppers did not make the transition to the different location. In particular, the Ossining market serves many customers who walk or drive through downtown on Saturday mornings.

This year, Down to Earth Markets, the market organizer, sought to keep the Ossining Winter Farmers Market downtown. It opened for the winter season outdoors on Saturday, January 2nd at the corner of Spring and Main Streets. Now, with the move into the First Presbyterian Church, the market continues downtown, yet warm and cozy indoors.
Customers will find parking in the lot that surrounds the First Presbyterian Church and in the lot at 2 Church Street, next to Mahopac Bank. When parking in the 2 Church Street lot, please walk through the lot to Maple Place and take a left. The market entrance will be within a few steps on Maple Place.

“We believe this will be the best of both worlds, as the market stays downtown, but moves inside to keep everyone more comfortable,” explained Frankie Rowland, Director of Community Relations for Down to Earth Markets, ”We’ll be eager to hear community feedback on the new winter location. We invite customers to check in with the market manager on Saturday to share your thoughts and opinions.”
The Ossining Winter Farmers Market is held every Saturday, from 9:00 am to 1 pm. It features Bread Alone Bakery, Mead Orchards, Meredith’s Country Bakery, Nana’s Home Kitchen (Middle Eastern specialties), Sunset View Farm (pasture-raised meat and eggs), Pura Vida Fisheries, and Yellow Bell Farm (Free range chicken and eggs). Green Tree Textiles is onsite, too, and collects textiles, used clothing, and accessories for recycling. See you Saturday!
