Borgia Supporters Disgrace Themselves by Shaming DV Victims

To first clarify the attack on my husband, I find it disturbing that Mr. & Mrs. Arrucci, personal friends of Catherine Borgia, would write a letter to the Daily Voice editor containing false accusations about my husband Robert Outhouse .

In their Daily Voice letter, the Arrucci's state: "While searching some background material on Mr. Outhouse", we noticed that he is on full disability and draws a disability salary because of a car accident, and yet drives a taxpayer funded fire chief’s car." They demanded an answer before Election Day. Here is their answer.

1. Our nephew, Reed Outhouse, 1^st Assistant Chief of Buchanan Engine, drives HIS issued Chief’s car. 2559B my husband’s “call” number as a Deputy Chief, is NOT a physical “car” as alleged by the Arruccis. That being said, there is nothing that would preclude him from driving any vehicle of any kind.

2. A police officer, who retires from a line-of-duty injury, is not precluded from working. They are deemed, “unable to perform the duties of a police officer. Their allegation of impropriety is false. That being said, they are referring to VOLUNTEER service as a firefighter/emt, unpaid.

3. The Arrucci’s insinuated that Catherine Borgia’s endorsement by Bob’s “co-workers.” was a personal slight. The Westchester County PBA board safely endorsed only incumbents, this endorsement is not to be mistaken as the WILL of the membership. In support of Bob, several of his direct supervisors personally wrote glowing letters of endorsement to show their support, and to provide insight, as people whom Bob worked for directly. They were not fluffy endorsement letters from politician friends that in any ways bashed his opponent, or letters misquoting a website and twisting words into something it was not... or a fictitious accounting of a car accident from 22 years ago that included procedurally and factually incorrect accountings in an attempt to throw dirt on his 23 years of service as a police officer.

Sadly, this is the second attempt at a personal smear campaign by Catherine Borgia via Carol and Ray Arrucci. Ray Arrucci posted in an Ossining Facebook group, a post that re-victimizes myself and my three children. I am shocked and horrified that my children’s former middle school teacher and her husband would resort to a personal attack against our family to bolster Catherine Borgia’s campaign.

In short, I was a victim of domestic violence, when the violence turned to my children, and Bob witnessed an event that caused him to ask if I needed help, I turned to him for help. He gave me the strength and support to attempt to leave for my children’s safety. The circumstances surrounding this is our personal business and has no place in politics. Ms. Borgia’s personal life is her private business, and has never been attacked by this campaign. Yet her team has made our tragedy the subject of a whisper campaign against my husband. Occasionally being thrown out carelessly on social media as casually as she used the word Nazi. Personal attacks have no place in politics.

Our personal tragedy was revisited on Catherine Borgia's Facebook wall Saturday. Instead of answering the Outhouse campaign, and several constituents who saw her outrageous mailer, she was challenged for proof of her preposterous claims. She desperately issued her own challenge to my husband on several Facebook sites regarding her very public and documented connection to the Hudson Institute. She remained silent, the mailer contained false information that she cannot prove true. She was given proof that no monies were ever donated to my husband or the State Republican Committee by the person she alleged. A fact very easy to find on the NYS Board of Elections website. Which is why there is a law which requires the Campaign Finance Disclosure Reports to be filed ON TIME for this very reason, a law she violated by filing 19 out of 23 filings as much as 22 months late not allowing her opposition to see who was donating to her, truly ironic.

Catherine Borgia’s “friend” diverted the heated discussion away from Ms. Borgia by posting an article from my 2006 incident, nearly 12 years ago. Carelessly and maliciously attacking a victim of domestic violence. This was an ongoing attack that she allowed to remain on her Facebook page that she controls. Ms. Borgia claims to be a champion for Domestic Violence, I see it as an attack on all Domestic Violence victims, by a desperate campaign in an effort to divert attention away from their own wrong-doing.

Tomorrow, I hope the voters of District 9 will say no to personal attacks, hyper-partisan practices, and deceit and vote for someone who is a proven champion for his community.
