Celebrating HV Seniors: A Supportive Soul
Anisa DeJesus was nominated for Patch's "Celebrate Your Senior" series, highlighting the accomplishments of local high school seniors.

OSSINING, NY — Many senior students in the Hudson Valley were expecting to celebrate their final year with prom, graduation, and other milestone events. However, the new coronavirus crisis has meant that dreams and long-awaited celebrations have been put on hold.
Patch would like to shine a light on these amazing young people and their accomplishments; a new series "Celebrate Your Senior," invites proud parents and others to spotlight the young people whose accomplishments can't be derailed by the pandemic.
Mildred DeJesus nominated Anisa DeJesus, a senior at Ossining High School.

Here's what the proud mom had to say about Anisa:
I wanted to nominate my daughter Anisa DeJesus. Anisa is a great friend, daughter, girlfriend, sister, and granddaughter. Anisa has overcome her mental health challenges and has since become an advocate for mental health, constantly supporting her friends and giving them strategies and a kind ear. Anisa is a loving, calming, and supportive soul. She has taken this closure during her senior year in stride. Anisa has grown tremendously throughout her high school career thanks to the Ossining High School staff that has supported her with love and care.

We are so proud of Anisa because she always makes decisions that work best for her. She is head strong and we are anxious to see what the future holds for her! We love and will always support you, Anisa!
To be included in "Celebrate Your Senior!" send photos and a description of why you're nominating your senior to be featured in a Patch post to Lanning.Taliaferro@patch.com. Tell them why you're proud of them and all they've accomplished.
