Community invited to screening of "Education, Inc." and panel discussion

New York State United Teachers is sponsoring screenings of the documentary around New York.

The public is invited to an upcoming screening of ”Education, Inc.,” a short film about the national movement to privatize public education. Following the documentary, local education leaders will participate in a panel discussion on how community members, teachers, parents and students can work together to protect public education.

Parent and filmmaker Brian Malone traveled across the country seeking answers to problems facing public education, including concerns that charter schools, which are publicly funded and privately run, are taking money away from public schools.

The screening is 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Ossining High School auditorium, 29 South Highland Ave.
