Croton-Harmon Puts Lunch In School District Budget Proposal
The budget and tax levy increases proposed in the school board's plan are below 3%.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — Croton-Harmon schools will start offering lunch next year. A new district-wide lunch program is one of the highlights of the Board of Education's proposed budget for 2019-20.
Voters in the Croton-Harmon school district will go to the polls May 21 to have their say on the spending plan. There are two fiscal propositions on the ballot, plus the Croton Free Library's annual tax levy and the Board of Education election.
The proposed spending package is $48,513,218, up 2.84% from the current year. The tax levy increase is 2.76% percent, below the state's property tax cap.

Highlights include the lunch program; two new courses including a Personal and Academic Skills Seminar; World Language instruction; and programs for extra-curricular & summer learning.

- The proposed Croton-Harmon Union Free School District budget in the amount of $48,513,218.
- Authorization to purchase various vehicles for the school district's Transportation Department through the use of bond anticipation notes over a five year period, not to exceed $295,000
- The proposed Croton Free Library tax levy, in the amount of $869,674
- The election of two candidates to the Board of Education for terms of three years
Polls will be open at the Croton-Harmon High School from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
