Croton Voters Heard On School Budget And Board

Here are the unofficial results from Tuesday's vote.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY -- Budgets, capital projects and board candidates were on the ballots for school districts across New York State. Voters in the Croton-Harmon district approved the budget and the bus purchases.

On Monday, Jordan Humphrey, whose name appeared on the ballot for election to the Croton–Harmon Board of Education, informed the district that he did not meet the one-year residency requirement necessary to be seated as a school trustee.

The spending package is $47,172,204, up 1.45 percent from the current year. The tax levy increase is 1.18 percent, below the state's property tax cap.

  • Voter approval of the Croton Free Library tax levy in the amount of $851,260
  • The election of two candidates as Board of Education trustees.
  • Voter approval for the purchase of transportation vehicles, not to exceed $295,000.
