Author Sarah Ashman Gillespie will visit with children at Open Door Family Medical Centers and read her book "Holly Bloom's Garden." Following the reading the children will have the opportunity to make a special craft project based on the story, and they will learn how to make healthy snacks using vegetables and fruits that they are going to grow in their community garden plot.
Donna Sharrett, a Master Gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension, will also be on hand to teach the children about gardening and the special tools that are used.
