Words & Music Concert Series: Joe D'Urso & Stone Caravan

The following is a press release from the Ossining Library.

On Sunday, October 16, the Ossining Library Foundation will present Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan at 2pm in the intimate 200-seat Budarz Theater at the Ossining Public Library. The free concert is part of the popular “Words & Music” concert series presented by the Ossining Library Foundation and curated by Ossining resident Alan Marzelli.  Doors open at 1:30pm and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Ossining Public Library is located at 53 Croton Avenue in Ossining. For more information, call (914) 941-2416, ext. 327 or visit http://ossininglibrary.org/.

Since 1991, Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan have gained worldwide recognition for their fresh take on Americana rock in the vein of Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp, their music described as “American backyard gasoline rock and roll” by past Words & Music performer Willie Nile. D’Urso has received praise for his passionate songwriting from the New York Times and the BBC, as well as Grammy Award nominations for his 2000 release, “Rock and Roll Station.” D’Urso’s 12th album, “Down Here by the River,” was released in January 2010 and features songs written by Steven Van Zandt and the BoDeans.
