Gasbarro Ahead After Primary Day

The Democrats had a primary for Ossining Town Justice.

OSSINING, NY — In a primary that drew 1,105 in-person voters, Jeffrey Gasbarro has a big lead over Mike Tawil in the battle for the Democratic line for Ossining town justice.

The contest was contentious, with Gasbarro's backers citing Tawil's censure by the state judicial commission, Tawil's supporters citing Gasbarro's lack of judicial experience, and both sides accusing the other of being insiders of one kind and another.

  • Gasbarro: 691
  • Tawil: 414

There were a record number of mail-in ballots this year, as the new coronavirus prompted big changes to the primary election process. Unofficial election night results do not include the results of absentee ballot voting. Absentee ballots must be postmarked by June 23 and received by the Board of Elections no later than June 30, 2020 to be counted, as per New York State Election Law Section 8-412(1).
