Indictment In Jackson Stabbing

An Ossining teen arrested in the case has been indicted by a Westchester County grand jury.

OSSINING, NY — An Ossining 18-year-old has been indicted by a Westchester County grand jury in connection with the stabbing death of Gregory Jackson, Jr.

Andrew Knight was arraigned Feb. 26. Westchester County Court Judge George Fufidio presided. He is charged with:

  • Murder in the Second Degree, a class A violent felony
  • Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class B violent felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor

Ossining police arrested him Feb 7 in the Bronx for the fatal stabbing of the 21-year-old.

Prosecutors alleged that the two had had a dispute over an article of clothing before they met on James Street after 4 p.m. Jan. 28. Following an argument, Knight stabbed Jackson with a kitchen knife.

Jackson was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He died from his wounds Feb. 1.

In addition to Ossining Police, the DA’s Office worked with the FBI's Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force, Westchester County Police, New York State and New York City (NYPD) Police to investigate the crime.

Knight was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to be back in court March 12.

ADA Christine O’Connor, Chief of the Homicide Division, and Brian Bendish are prosecuting the case.
