UPDATE: Mandatory Water Restrictions in Croton-on-Hudson

A Con Ed problem has damaged equipment in the wellfield

UPDATE: Con Ed officials said the power outage has been fixed. The customer was out from about 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.


Croton-on-Hudson officials issued this e-notice:

Effective immediately, the Village is instituting MANDATORY WATER restrictions. This is due to a Con Edison power failure and surge that has resulted in a complete power loss and equipment damage at the Village wellfield.
Until further notice
There shall be no:
• Watering of lawns
• Washing of cars
• Filling of swimming pools
All domestic water use should be reduced as much as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation during this power failure emergency. Con Edison and the Water Department are working to resolve the issue and return the water system to normal operations. We will update residents as we receive further information.
