Murphy Leads Castelli in State Senate District 40 Primary
The two campaigned for the Republican ballot line in November.

With 85 percent of districts reporting, Yorktown Councilman Terrence Murphy had a commanding lead over former State Assemblyman Bob Castelli.
Murphy had 70 percent of the 3,396 votes counted by 10:50 p.m., according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.
Murphy was tagged by State Senator Greg Ball as his replacement. Ball announced this spring he would not seek a third term.
