Charity Breakfast Raises Funds for Ossining Food Pantry
On Wednesday, May 25th, the Golden Eagles, a group of involved and active seniors, hosted the 19th Annual Charity Breakfast at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ossining. Over 65 people attended the event. All food was prepared and served with love by members of the Golden Eagles. Over $1,200 was raised via ticket sales and contributions and 100% of the proceeds were donated to the Ossining Food Pantry.
Martin B. Engelhardt, Jr., president of the Ossining Food Pantry states: "We are grateful to members of the Golden Eagles for their on-going support of the Ossining Food Pantry's efforts. This donation is sorely needed and gratefully received. All funds will go directly toward our mission of feeding the needy in the Greater Ossining area."
The Ossining Food Pantry is a 100% volunteer-run organization with no paid staff, relying on the hard work of volunteers and donations from the community. The Pantry serves a large cross-section of residents from the Greater Ossining area including single individuals, couples, parents with children, senior citizens, the unemployed, the under-employed, veterans, the sick who cannot work and the well who cannot make ends meet under current circumstances.
