Ossining PTA Thanks Community for its Support on Giving Tuesday
While #GivingTuesday is over, it isn't too late to support the Ossining School District through the PTA's GoFundMe page.

On #GivingTuesday, the Ossining School District received more than $2,000 in donations to fund enrichment programs and scholarships.
The contributions, which the Ossining PTA raised in less than 24 hours, will go toward programs ranging from Enrichment Palooza at Park School to SAT Prep at Ossining High School.
“Giving Tuesday in Ossining was a huge success,” Ossining Superintendent Raymond Sanchez said. “This was the first year we actively participated and we are blown away by the outpouring of support. No matter the size of the donation, it is appreciated.”

The generous donations are a vote of confidence for public education and Ossining, PTA President Beth Sniffen said. While #GivingTuesday is over, it isn’t too late to support the schools. Anyone who wants to contribute can still do so by clicking here for the GoFundMe page.
“By donating to the Ossining School District you are helping your children,” she said. “Our PTA is a proud and active part of the school district and we are dedicated to recognizing and promoting the importance of excellence in education and quality of life for all children. We ask you to please be a part of it.”

The #GivingTuesday initiative was spearheaded by Briarcliff Manor resident Jessica Vecchiarelli, who has a son at Brookside School and a daughter at Park School. “Here in Ossining we are so proud of our schools and our community,” she said. “As a parent, I want to do all I can to support my children and see Ossining grow.”
Ossining resident Catherine Cioffi, who has two sons at Brookside and a son at Park, said she believes in Ossining. “This is my home. This is where my family is growing and flourishing. What better cause to support than the Ossining School District?” said Cioffi, who also worked on the #GivingTuesday push.
The Ossining School District, which enrolls more than 5,000 students, has a long commitment to giving, from community members to faculty, staff, students and parents. The district’s own ACTION committee, composed of district staff members and parent volunteers, collects books, clothing, food and other items for children and families. It recently held a wellness fair and sponsors family game nights and story walks, among other activities.
