OSSINING, NY — Ossining residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.
The $134 million proposed budget was approved by a Yes vote of 1,125 to 336 no votes. The budget is a 4.1% spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.95% hike in the school tax levy. That is within the state's tax cap for the district so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.
Aaron Spring and Melissa M. Banta were unopposed for two seats on the Board of Education.
