Ossining Summer Free Lunch Program Starts Next Month

Children 18 and under are eligible to get free lunches at Ossining High School

The Ossining School District’s Summer Lunch Program, which provides free meals to school-age children, starts July 3 and runs weekdays through Aug. 25. It will not be offered on the July 4 holiday.

The Summer Food Service Program will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ossining High School, 29 South Highland Ave. The meal is free for children 18 and under.

Ossining schools are offering the federally funded Summer Food Service Program in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture.

Last summer, about 400,000 free meals were served each day at 2,900 sites across the state, according to the New York State Department of Education, which works with the USDA to administer the Summer Food Service Program in New York.
