Remember: Ossining Library, Schools Vote is Tuesday

The Board of Education Candidates are Graig Galef, Frank Schnecker, and Steve Wardwell.

The proposed library budget for 2014-15 is $3.85 million.

The proposed school district budget is $114.5 million. The tax levy increase of 2.38 percent would be under the state tax levy cap (2.48 percent).

There is also a second school district proposition on the ballot.

Ossining officials want to decrease the transportation mileage limits for Claremont School fourth-graders.

Instead of requiring fourth-grade students to walk to school if they live less than a mile from Claremont, the limit would drop to a half-mile—which is already the limit for third-graders. There would be no impact on the budget, school officials said.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Ossining High School gym.
