Service Set for Rosemary Tomaino Pagano

Rosemary Tomaino Pagano, a long-time resident of Ossining, NY, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the age of 87.

Rosemary was born in Danbury, CT on April 5, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Julian and Margaret (Durkin) Tomaino.

Rosemary received her B.S. from St. Elizabeth College in New Jersey and her Masters in Home Economics from Hunter College, NYC.

Rosemary married Anthony Pagano in 1953 and they lived in Italy for 2 years where she taught school while Anthony attended medical school.

Her profession as dietitian began upon returning to the United States in 1955, she retired from Sky View Nursing Home in Croton, NY where she was the Head Dietitian for approximately 20 years. She instilled her interest and love for healthy food choices in her family along with her love and enjoyment of reading, theater, the arts and music.

Rosemary was a deeply devoted and much loved Mother and Grandmother. She traveled often to California, Maryland and Maine to enjoy time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children: Sarina (Edward) Kriston of Lake Tahoe, CA, Paul Pagano of Ossining, NY, Lori Pagano of Lake Tahoe, CA and Peter (Moira) Pagano of Bethesda, MD. Six grandchildren: Zachary and Xander Kriston, Brandon Hackett, Isabella, Rose and Grace Pagano. Her sister Margaret (Stanley) Karachuk of Trumbull, CT and their children David, Halina, Gregory and Robert Karachuk. In addition to her parents Rosemary was predeceased by her half-sister Dorothy DiMolfetta.

Rosemary was a devout catholic and parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church.

The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 6 at St. Augustine’s Church at 9:30 AM. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury, CT.
