Applications now being accepted for Summer 2018 positions.

Ossining, N.Y, April 2, 2018: Ossining and Westchester students will now have an opportunity to get involved in local government. Ossining Village Trustee Omar J. Herrera is committed to providing student leaders the opportunity to serve in local government and learn how the municipality is managed and operated through a newly developed internship program with the office of Ossining Village Trustee Omar J. Herrera. Selected interns will have targeted projects based on their interests and passions. Office is located near public transportation (Bee Line Bus and MetroNorth).

Qualifications:

  • College or High School Students ages 17-25
  • Must be enrolled in an academic, vocational or professional institution during their internship.
  • Must be able to receive school/institutional credit (this is a non-paid internship)
  • Interested in government, politics, public policy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, familiar with basic graphic design, video editing
  • Comfortable speaking in public and working with groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Interested in social justice, equity, youth empowerment issues and platforms

  • 2018 Summer Program Position Offers Made
  • New Employment Process with Village Human Resources Department
  • Program Start Date: Mid May 2018/ End Date: August 2018
