Veronica Fernanda Chacho-Morocho laid to rest at Dale Cemetery
Hundreds of mourners say goodbye to young Ossining woman.
Relatives and friends packed Saint Ann’s Church this morning during the funeral mass for Veronica Fernanda Chacho-Morocho. Veronica died in an auto accident on Monday, on the Taconic Parkway in Yorktown. She was 19.
Rev. Edward Byrne, with Rev. Alberto Espinal and Deacon Jose DeJesus, conducted the funeral mass.
After the mass, Ossining Police assisted the funeral procession from Saint Ann’s to Dale Cemetery. Mourners carried flowers and white and purple balloons to the gravesite. The balloons were released to symbolically represent Veronica’s ascent into heaven. Flowers were placed atop the coffin and all around the grave. Rev. Espinal performed the rite of committal at the gravesite.
