Oyster Bay School Budget Passes, Board Members Elected

Voters have decided on a proposed 2015-16 budget.

Oyster Bay residents approved the school district’s $55.4 million proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 862-338, News12 reports.

The budget includes a 1.52 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.52 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Two school board candidates were elected: Todd Cronin received 678 votes and Laurie Kowalsky received 685 votes, according to News12.
