PATCHOGUE, NY — The 70s classic rock supergroup from Australia Little River Band will take the stage of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on Feb. 25 backed by a seven-piece orchestra ensemble.

The group, which was formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1975, was originally a blend of musicians who had enjoyed success in other acts and their focus was to get airplay on American radio, theatre officials said in a news release, adding that the band achieved the goal "with good songwriting, powerful vocals, and guitar harmonies," and "claimed their place as one of the great vocal bands of the 70s and the 80s."

The Eagles' founding member, Glenn Frey, once called the band “the best singing band in the world,” according to a news release. In the 70s and 80s, the band topped the charts with multi-platinum albums and hits like “Reminiscing,” “Cool Change,” “Lonesome Loser,” “The Night Owls,” “Take It Easy On Me,” “Help Is on Its Way,” “Happy Anniversary,” “We Two,” “Man On Your Mind,” “The Other Guy,” and “It’s A Long Way There.”

"Reminiscing" has "garnered rare status" achieving over five million airplays on American radio and "Lady" is close behind with over four million airplays, officials said, citing information from BMI. The group was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards in 2004.
