Man Dies After Being Struck By 3 Vehicles In Hit-And-Run: Police
The driver of one of the cars fled the scene on Sunrise Highway and was later arrested, police said.

A Mastic man was charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian, who died after he was struck by three vehicles in North Patchogue early Saturday, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the crash took place in the eastbound lane of Sunrise Highway, west of Route 112, at 3 a.m. Luke Figat, 25, of Medford, was attempting to cross the eastbound lane when he was struck by the three vehicles, police said.
One of the cars fled the scene, police said.

An investigation by Fifth Squad and major case unit detectives led to the arrest of Eduardo Aponte, 29, of Mastic, who was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, police said.
Figat was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

The drivers who remained at the scene were not injured, police said.
Aponte was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
