Naked Man Flees After Crashing Car Into Long Island Home: Police
Police say his car hit a deck that caused a pool to collapse, sending water pouring into the home. Then he took his clothes off...

UPDATE 5 p.m.: Police have identified the driver as 32-year-old John Winn, of Shirley. He is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, second degree reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting. He will be arraigned on a later date.
SHIRLEY, NY – A man was arrested after he crashed his car into a Long Island home late Thursday night, sending water from a backyard pool flooding into the home, Suffolk Police said.
It happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Ridgewood Drive in Shirley.

The man, who police have not yet identified, first drove his car over two lawns and knocked down fences, police said. The vehicle then struck a deck, which hit the pool, collapsing the pool, police said.

The water from the pool poured into the home, flooding it, police said. The home was occupied, but no one was injured.

The driver exited the vehicle, took off his clothes and fled, police said. Police caught him a short time later.
He was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue. Charges are pending, police said.
