PMHS Student Wins 'La Unidad Latina' Scholarship

Patchogue-Medford High School Advanced Placement Government and Politics teacher, Rita Murphy, encouraged her student Erika Calderon to apply for and won the New York State Senate Leadership 'La Unidad Latina' Scholarship.

Calderon will be awarded during the Unidad Latina Conference held at the Hilton in Manhattan. Calderon is also the ex-officio student Board of Eduation member for the academic year.

The Unidad Latina conference focuses on the needs, challenges and aspirations of the growing Hispanic Community in New York State.
