A Central Islip man was seriously hurt after being struck by the minivan last month, police say.

Police are asking for the public’s help to locate the dark-colored minivan pictured above that they say was involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Central Islip last month.
The minivan struck 25-year-old Edgar Abrego, of Central Islip, on Carleton Avenue and Brightside Avenue on Aug. 17 shortly before 9:30 p.m., police said.
Police believe the driver’s side mirror of the minivan was damaged and that the front windshield may have also been damaged in the crash.
