Town Dedication To Honor WWII Hero To Take Place Saturday
A special ceremony to honor the late PFC Anton 'Tony' A. Bugala USMC who died fighting for our country in World War II.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY - This weekend officials will be honoring a local hero in East Patchogue. On Saturday, a special ceremony will be held to dedicate part of North Dunton Avenue in honor of the late PFC Anton 'Tony' A. Bugala USMC.
The event, hosted by Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilman Neil Foley and Councilman Michael Loguercio will begin at 11 a.m.
The member of Echo Company, 1st Marine Raider Battalion fought for his country in World War II and he gave his life defending our nation on September 14, 1942 at the battle of Edson’s Ridge on the Island of Guadalcanal. PFC.

Bugala enlisted while living on North Dunton Avenue on a farm directly across from what is now the Verne W. Critz Elementary School.
The dedication is being made possible through the Town of Brookhaven, South Bay VFW Post 8300, Hagerman Fire Department and South Country Ambulance Company.
