Cops Find Woman Accused of Ramming Deaf Child with Shopping Cart

State police thank the public for their assistance.

CORTLANDT, NY — On Friday, New York State Police charged Erica A. Walker of Queens, New York, with 2nd degree Attempted Assault, a felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor.

Police allege that Walker intentionally rammed a 10-year-old child with a shopping cart at the Walmart in the Cortlandt Town Center at about 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.

They asked the public's help to ID the suspect, captured in a photo at the Walmart that day.

The 23-year-old was arraigned before Town Justice Gerald Klein in the Town of Cortlandt Court. The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or bond. She is scheduled to return to the Town of Cortlandt Court on March 6, 2017.
