Coronavirus: Peekskill Government Adjusts Programs, Operations

In general, services are available by phone, online and by mail. Essential services continue.

PEEKSKILL, NY โ€” While essential staff are still at work in City of Peekskill buildings, the doors of City Hall and other City buildings are closed to public visitors to limit exposure to the new coronavirus.

In general, services are available by phone, online and by mail. The same applies to other City offices and buildings (Recreation, Central Fire House).

The Peekskill City Courthouse has suspended all cases or 45 days beginning Monday. The only cases that will be heard are criminal arraignments, cases requiring an order of protection, and cases involving an Order to Show Cause to stay an eviction. No evictions will take place during this 45-day period.

The Field Library will be closed from March 16-March 31 in the best interest of the community.
The National Guard visited Peekskill to deliver sanitizer to keep buildings safe and clean for staff and visitors, and for distribution to community organizations.

All events permitted by the Parks Department or planned for City facilities, including Breakfast with the Bunny of April 4, are cancelled or postponed for the next month. The City will not be issuing permits for new events for the next month. All after school programs have been cancelled.

The City Council meetings will take place using conference technology as per NY Governorโ€™s Executive Order.
