ARt Exhibit Opening: "Actualized", Paintings by Toni Quest

Toni Quest began painting in 1994 after surviving a head on auto collision. Her multiple injuries left her head spinning, her boyfriend bolting, and her heart and soul screaming. While recovering at home, she began painting faces, giving birth to her Screaming Woman ® series.

In 2006, Quest was named one of Westchester County’s leading new artists by the Westchester Business Journal and was selected by the Westchester Arts Council to exhibit in their Young Emerging Artists exhibition.  Since then, Toni has licensed her award-winning painting for the book cover of "View From the Middle of the Road, Volume II, U.S. in Us". Her portraits of James Brown were included in the Visual Soul Exhibition, commemorating Brown’s 50th year in show business; her work was displayed at the Lucy Craft Laney Museum in Augusta, GA.

By exercising her artistic abilities, Quest was able to heal herself from post-trauma stress disorder and combat Multiple Sclerosis. Through her art, she bears her soul as well as her affinity to the collective consciousness of human kind. Her intent is to provoke emotion and thought, thus inspiring constructive communication about one’s relationships to others and the world around them.  In 2009, Quest was selected to moderate a panel discussion in New York City on the synergy of science, spirituality, and the arts. The panelists included neuroscientists, artists and spiritual leaders.
