Free Tax-Aide preparation in Peekskill and Shrub Oak

It’s almost tax season, and you might start seeing listings around the county for free assistance filing your taxes by Tax-Aide volunteers. Each year they’re trained and IRS-certified to make sure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code.

They also complete course modules for adhering to standards of conduct and keeping your sensitive documents and secure.

You can make an appointment to have your taxes done at the Peekskill Neighborhood Center (in the same building as the Field Library) on Fridays, February 7th – April 11th and at the John C. Hart Library in Shrub Oak on Mondays, February 3rd – April 14th.

And if you’re comfortable with computers and have the right equipment, you can also ask about our “remote” arrangement, where you connect with counselors electronically from home at your convenience. This service is also free of charge.
