Free tax preparation at the Peekskill Neighborhood Center
The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program has helped local residents for decades, particularly seniors and people with low to moderate income

It’s almost tax season, and you might start seeing listings around the county for free assistance filing your taxes by AARP Tax-Aide volunteers. Each year they’re trained and IRS-certified to make sure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code.
They also complete course modules for adhering to standards of conduct and keeping your sensitive documents and secure.
You can make an appointment to have your taxes done at the Peekskill Neighborhood Center (in the same building as the Field Library) on Fridays February 2nd — April 12th. Appointments can also be made at the John C. Hart Library in Shrub Oak on Mondays.

And if you’re comfortable with computers and have the right equipment, you can also ask about our remote arrangement, where you connect with counselors electronically from home at your convenience. Both of these services are free of charge.
To schedule an appointment or for more information on how either of these procedures work, please leave your name and number at 914-440-3086. Someone will return your call once we start making appointments mid-January.
