PEEKSKILL, NY — Living in the Hudson Valley is cause for celebration—and one way to celebrate the valley's natural beauty and heritage is to take part in the annual Hudson River Valley Ramble. The Ramble offers a series of diverse events that highlight the area's history, culture and natural resources, and this year it's starting on Labor Day weekend.

The 20th Annual Ramble will take place on Aug. 31, Sept. 1, 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29 of 2019.

There are many ways to take part. You can hike, bike, paddle down the waterways, learn about Hudson River Valley artists or visit Revolutionary War historical sites. You can watch birds, gather wild herbs, or explore urban trails, visit the shell of a castle or learn about the aqueduct that supplies New York City water.

The ramble covers a large geographic area that includes Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Ulster; Washington, Westchester, and those portions of New York and Bronx counties adjacent to the Hudson River and within the city's waterfront revitalization program area.

So you can stay close to home or explore someplace new. And a lot of it is accessible from the Hudson Line on Metro-North Railroad.
