Pipeline Project Making Progress Under the Hudson
Algonquin Gas Transmission filed its weekly status report with the federal government.

According to Weekly Status Report No. 34, Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC is making progress with its project to drill under the Hudson River between Stony Point and Buchanan.
The Algonquin natural gas pipeline owned by Spectra Energy runs through New Jersey and New York on its way to New England. Spectra’s plan to enlarge the pipeline includes three projects so far.
The AIM Project involves the construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of 37.4 miles of pipeline and related facilities in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Most of the pipeline installation will replace existing pipeline with larger diameter pipeline.

Atlantic Bridge includes replacement of another 10.9 miles of existing pipeline with new larger diameter pipe.
Access Northeast includes the expansion of approximately 125 miles of the existing Algonquin pipeline system. Suggested receipt points would be on the west end of the Algonquin system

In its most recent status report, for the period ending January 15, 2016, to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Spectra said that the Construction Status of the Stony Point to Yorktown Take-up & Relay: Hudson River Horizontal Direction Drill, was 40 percent complete, with the HDD pilot hole in progress from both sides of the river.
