Public Invited to Veterans Day Ceremony in Cortlandt

The guest speaker will discuss his experiences during World War II as a Jewish member of the Greek Resistance.

CORTLANDT, NY — Residents are invited to join Supervisor Linda Puglisi and the Town Board along with the Cortlandt Hudson Valley Veterans Committee for the annual Veterans Day ceremony.

The guest speaker will be Mano Orell, who will discuss his experiences during World War II as a Jewish member of the Greek Resistance. Using a false ID he became an interpreter for the Germans during the Nazi Occupation. He has written a book “My World War II Memoirs”.

The 89th Army Band, New York Guard with Commander and Conductor Master Sgt. Roy Coates will be performing patriotic songs.
