Bethpage Man Stabs Teen in Chest, Slashes Man in Face: Police

A verbal argument escalated into a physical one Thursday night in Bethpage, police said.

A Bethpage man faces assault charges after police said he stabbed a 16-year-old boy in the chest, slashed a man in the face and attempted to hit them with his car Thursday night.

According to authorities, Jeff Saint-Gerard, 28, was involved in a verbal argument with a 29-year-old and a teen in front of his Manchester Drive home when the argument escalated into a physical one at 7:28 p.m.

Police said Saint-Gerard attempted to hit both victims with his 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, slashed the 29-year-old in the face with a knife and stabbed the 16-year-old in the chest.

A private car took both victims to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

Saint-Gerard was arrested at his home without further incident and authorities recovered the knife at the scene.

He was charged with two counts of first degree assault, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and second degree reckless endangerment.

He will be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
