Cops: Woman Drove Drunk and Wrong Way on Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway
The East Rockaway woman was arrested in Bethpage, police say.

An East Rockaway woman drove drunk and against traffic on the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway in Bethpage early Friday, authorities said.
Nassau Police say they received numerous 911 calls about a car traveling south in the northbound lanes on the expressway. After locating the vehicle, police say they were forced to engage the vehicle head on and safely brought the car to a stop between Exits 8 and 7 at about 12:45 a.m.
Police found that the driver, Maureen Hamilton, 58, was driving while intoxicated. She was placed under arrest without incident. There were no reports of any accidents as a result of Hamilton’s actions, police said.

Hamilton is charged with driving while Intoxicated, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated (in excess of .08) and driving the wrong way on a one-way street, police said.
Hamilton is scheduled for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
