'Secretariat' to Run at Library

LIRR UPDATE: More delays Wednesday; railroad now saying it won't be normal until at least Friday.

With the 137th Kentucky Derby's running last Saturday and the two other Triple Crown races to come, it's fitting that the Plainview Library is offering two free showings of the film "Secretariat" Wednesday. While "Big Red" could run, the LIRR continues to be slowed down by ongoing repairs to damaged tracks.

Early Wednesday, the LIRR announced that track repairs in the East River tunnel are going slower than anticipated. Now, the railroad says delays and cancellations will continue at least until Friday.
