Man Robs Westbury McDonald's: Police
The Westbury man was arrested Saturday morning following a brief foot chase, police said.

A 51-year-old man was arrested for robbing a McDonald’s in Westbury early Saturday, police said.
Lyndon Q. Hawkins, of Westbury, entered McDonald’s, located at 35 Old Country Road, demanded cash from the cashier and told her he had a gun at 5:40 a.m., police said.
The robber fled on foot east on Old Country Road with an undetermined amount of cash.

According to authorities, officers responded to the report of a robbery and, after hearing a broadcast of the robber’s description, located Hawkins running through the alleyway of the Pines Motor Lodge, located at 101 Taylor Ave.
Hawkins was taken into police custody following a brief chase on foot, police said. No proceeds were recovered and police did not find a weapon. No injuries were reported.

Hawkins was charged with first degree robbery. He will be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
