Old Bethpage Man Steals Pizza, Cash From Delivery Man: Police

Police are looking for two other men involved in the robbery.

LAKEVIEW, NY - An Old Bethpage man was arrested for stealing a pizza and cash from a delivery man in Lakeview on Monday night, according to Nassau Police.

A delivery man for Papa John’s Pizza was dispatched to a Lehman Road home at about 11:18 p.m.

When he arrived, he noticed 21-year-old Jermaine Jones standing outside the home, police said.

When the delivery man removed the pizza from the car to give to Jones, he was approached by two men armed with a gun, police said.

Jones and the two men went through the delivery man’s pocket removing cash and pushed him to the ground at which time he triggered his car alarm, police said.

The men fled on foot westbound on Cedar Road with the pizza and an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Officers responded to the area and found a 2006 BMW parked on Clinton Avenue occupied by the driver, 21-year-old Ruben Sajous, of East Meadow and Jones, police said.

During the investigation Sajous and Jones were found in possession of marijuana and alprazolam pills, or Xanax and placed under arrest, police said.

Jones was identified as one of the men who participated in the robbery, the other two men were not located, police said.

Sajous is charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, police said.

Jones is charged with second degree robbery, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

They will both be arraigned on Tuesday.
