Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School recently hosted its first annual Volunteer Fair.

In attendance were representatives from 15 community organizations including Special Olympics, Long Island Harvest, Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Mid Island Y, The Book Fairies, Long Island Dietetics Association, Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC), Plainview Hospital, American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Atria Senior Living, and The Helpful Horse.

Students took advantage of this unique opportunity by learning about the different community organizations. Representatives from the organizations not only taught students the importance of volunteering, but made it possible for students to sign up for community service hours.
